Three of family shot dead in Bihar

Three members of a family were shot dead by a group of assailants apparently over a property dispute at Kishunpur village in the district today.
The deceased have been identified as Vijay Yadav (35), his wife Kajal Devi (30), and son Prasenjit Kumar (5), Katihar Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Chhote Lal said.
"A property dispute was going on between the families of Vijay Yadav and his neighbours Narendra Yadav and Kistu Yadav. A quarrel broke out between the two families late last night and ended with a group of assailants shooting dead Vijay and his family members in the wee hours," Lal said.

"Five other sons of Vijay saved their lives by escaping from the scene of the crime," he said.
The ASP also said that Vijay had lodged an FIR against his two neighbours in January this year due to the property dispute.
Intensive raids are being conducted to nab the assailants.
