Three of Noida family killed in road mishap in U'khand
Press Trust of India Dehradun A woman and her two children were killed and her husband was injured when their car fell into a river in Uttarakhand's Nainital district in the wee hours today.
Driven by its owner Deepak Kathuria, a resident of Noida, the car appears to have veered off Haldwani-Pithoragarh highway at Garampani, a few km from Garampani beyond Bhawali at about 4 AM and fell into river Shipra, police said.
The car was badly damaged killing Jyoti Kathuria and her two kids six-year-old Rashmi and 11-year-old Krish on the spot, an official at Bhawali police station said.
Deepak, who suffered grievous injuries in the mishap, was rushed to a community hospital at Khairna in the district where his condition is critical, he said.
Though the exact cause of the accident is not yet known, it seems that the car met with the mishap as Kathuria dozed off, the official said.
