Thymol and tartaric acid prices softened by Rs 5 per kilo at the wholesale chemical market in the national capital today following muted demand amid fresh supplies.

Traders attributed the downfall in thymol and tartaric prices to a weak demand amid increased arrivals.

Meanwhile, other segments in the chemical market ruled flat on small demand.

In price section, thymol prices lost by Rs 5 to Rs 395-445 per kilo.

Prices of tartaric acid-France also fell by Rs 5 to finish at Rs 525 per kilo.
