by a tiger in Kurai forest area near here today.
The incident occurred when Sohanlal Khandate took his cattle for grazing to the jungles in the wee hours, sub-divisional officer, Rokadh sub-forest division, G K Barkhade told PTI.
The tiger had killed the farmer's cow near a river when he was away and when Khandate arrived at the spot, the big cat resting in a bush pounced on him, he said.
Khandate's cries for help alerted villagers who rushed to his aid, following which the feline fled into forest.
The injured was rushed to Kurai area's Primary Health Centre (PHC) from where he was referred to the district hospital.
