Actor Michael Keaton is also expected to reprise his role as the title ghost in the "Beetlejuice 2", reported Ace Showbiz.
Burton has earlier said that he is willing to helm the upcoming sequel, but only if the script was right.
"Those were fun characters, but I'd have to see what the script was like and if it was worth doing," the "Frankenweenie" director had said.
He also wanted Keaton to return to the franchise.
"I think he would be willing to do it. Keaton would have to be in it. He was great as that character. I think it's a way to unleash your inner whatever. I bet you he would get right back into it," he added.
Grahame-Smith, who wrote Burton-produced "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter", also penned the "Beetlejuice 2" script.
