Timken India's October-December net profit down 49%

Bearings maker Timken India today reported a 49 per cent drop in net profit to Rs 4.57 crore in the October-December quarter on higher expenses.
The company had posted a profit of Rs 8.9 crore in the corresponding quarter a year earlier, it said in a BSE filing.
Total income from operations was almost unchanged at Rs 174.46 crore, compared with Rs 174.81 crore a year earlier.
Expenses increased to Rs 168.97 crore from Rs 162.26 crore.
Timken shares gained 3.49 per cent to Rs 163.10 at the close on the BSE.
