Tina is better than her husband Anil Ambani in answering questions in the court, remarked the special CBI judge in the 2G case on her deposition before him as a prosecution witness.
"Ye Ambani sahab se to better hai (She is better than (Anil) Ambani)," Special CBI Judge O P Saini said with a smile as the court room was packed with advocates, interns, journalists and staff from other courts making the atmosphere stiff and humid.
One of the defence counsel chipped in, "Sir that is why she is his (Anil Ambani's) better half".
Appearance of the 55-year-old former Bollywood actress drew a good crowd in the court room compared to those present at the deposition by Anil Ambani yesterday.
Having come an hour before her scheduled deposition, she faced requests from court staff for her autograph outside the court.
Just after concluding her deposition, Tina, who is also a social worker, thanked the judge and his staff. She invited the judge as a "special invitee" to visit her hospital in Mumbai.
"Thank you so much sir. You must visit my hospital some day. I am inviting you from my heart. It is such a big hospital with 107 beds. You are a special invitee at the hospital," Tina said easing the atmosphere in the court room bringing smiles on many faces.
The judge merely smiled.
Senior advocate Harish Salve, who was appearing for Reliance Telecom Ltd, remarked that she was inviting the judge as a "special guest" only.
Tina was composed during her 90-minute deposition. She was a little uncomfortable due to humid atmosphere with the court packed by advocates, staff, onlookers and scribes.
As she left the court, Reliance officials opened umbrellas in an attempt to prevent cameras capturing her.
Tina, however, did not mind being clicked. "It is ok. It is ok. Leave it. Don't do this," she told them.
