He wished that the dawn of Telugu New Year ushered in peace, progress and prosperity and promote unity and harmony among all to steer the nation to greater heights in the global arena.
DMK chief M Karunanidhi also greeted the people and recalled that it was his party, during one of its tenures in government, that had sanctioned government holiday for the Telugu New Year.
