TN govt to host International Thirukkural Conference

An international conference on the Tamil treatise Thirukkural by saint-poet Thiruvalluvar would be organised soon, Tamil Nadu School Education Minister K C Veeramani announced in the state assembly today.
The conference would be organised by World Tamils Association along with the University of Madras and researchers, scholars in Tamil literature and historians from across the globe would be invited, he said.
In another announcement, he said conferences on Tamil would be organised in countries like Singapore and Malaysia, in order to address the issues faced by Tamil students in these countries.
