She has also ordered immediate action if complaints alleging collection of high passenger fares were received against omni buses.
Between November six and nine, 11,959 special buses would be operated and an equal number of buses from November 10 till 16, she said in an official release here.
The special buses are to help people celebrate Diwali in their native places and to return to their places of work after the festival.
"If higher fares are collected in omni buses, general public can call up 044-24794709 and lodge complaints."
Special buses would operate from and to all important towns and cities in Tamil Nadu including Koyambedu Moffusil Bus terminus here.
