In the second such meeting for the discussion of mining issues at the highest level of governance, the ministers would discuss review and firm up the way ahead in expediting the pace of reforms initiated by the MMDR (Amendment) Act effective from January 15, 2015.
This high-level meeting, chaired by Union Steel and Mines Minister Tomar, will enable intensive discussion on the issues, challenges and opportunities in the mining sector to realise its optimum potential and provide an effective platform to showcase the recent policy initiatives of the Government of India.
Ministers from states would detail the efforts of the respective state governments for promoting ease of doing business in the mining sector.
They will highlight the key issues which the states may have encountered during the implementation of reforms in mining and minerals sector, a release said.
