Top players for Inter-Institution championship

The 27th National Inter-Institution Carrom Championship for men and women, with 16 teams in the fray, is to be held here from August 9 to 11.
Among the top players taking part would be former world and current national champion Yogesh Pardeshi, current world champion K Shrinivas and Maharashtra state champion and World No. 4, Riyaz Akbar Ali, a media release issued by Maharashtra Carrom Association said today.
Petroleum Sports Promotion Board, LIC Of India, Air India, All India Electricity Sports Control Board, Reserve Bank of India, Indian Audit and Accounts Department, United India Insurance, BSNL, Post and Telegraph, Bank of Maharashtra, Bank Of India, Central Civil Services Sports Control Board, Defence Accounts and Jain Irrigation are the teams that would take part in the championship.

Competitions would be held in men's singles, women's singles and men's and women's team championship while all events are to be played as per the revised new rules adopted by the All India Carrom Federation, the release stated.
Bank of Maharashtra is sponsoring the championship, it added.
