Tribal dept orders probe into scholarship fund misuse

Tribal project officer here ordered an inquiry into allegations of misuse of scholarship funds in nine tehsils of the district.
Tribal project officer Prashant Rumale posted at Pandharkaoda office near here ordered a probe and set up a four-member panel, headed by assistant project officer Shivand Pedekar.
Rumale said the inquiry has been ordered following allegations of misuse of funds by institutes concerned in the nine tehsils.
"If any college is found guilty of misappropriating government fund meant for scholarship for tribal students by way of citing bogus admission under the pressure of college management, would be dealt and an FIR will also be lodged against them," he said.

He said that panel would visit the 171 colleges and examine the records maintained by them and if they find any misappropriation of funds, FIRs would instantly be filed against the college management.
