Tribal girl ends self seeing financial conditions of family

A teenaged tribal girl, upset with poor economic conditions of her family due to which she could not pursue higher studies, committed suicide in a village here today, police said.
The deceased, eldest of the four daughters of Perumal, a resident of Karumanthurai village, had appeared for Plus Two board exams this year and wanted to take up higher studies, police said.
However, she was told by her father that it was not possible due to the poor economic conditions of their family, they said.
Depressed with the fathers response, she took the extreme step and ended her life, they said, adding, she was rushed to the a government hospital here, but died without responding to treatment.
