allegedly raping a 19-year-old girl at an isolated locality here, police said today.
The victim, a ragpicker, and her friend had yesterday approached auto-rickshaw driver Tausif Sharif Shah and his friends Mohsin Dadamia Shah and Sameer Haider Shah to take them to Nashik Road for boarding a train to Kalyan.
Instead of taking them to their destination, the trio took the victim and her male friend near a tractor-house at the Kannamwar bridge. They then beat up the victim's friend, tied him and raped her before fleeing from the spot, police said.
The victim's friend managed to free himself and informed Bhadrakali police about the incident. The teenager was admitted to the Nashik civic hospital.
