"68% would not leave under any circumstance. I think that means murder. I think it means anything," Trump told his enthusiastic supporters in Sparks, Nevada.
In his speech, the New Yorker was referencing a December national poll in which nearly 70% of his supporters said they would still vote for him if he ran as an independent.
Trump also recalled an unspecified poll in which he said more than nine-in-ten of his supporters would probably never leave.
Last month, Trump had claimed that his supporters would go to any extent and would not leave him.
He said his supporters were so loyal he "could stand in the Middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters".

During his campaign, Trump has also called for a ban on Muslims entering the United States, triggering sharp reaction from across the world.
