Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which governs the cash rich temple, had already written to RBI and government on the defunct notes after the deadline for exchange of demonetised notes expired on December 30, temple sources told PTI.
TTD is awaiting a reply from the RBI and government, sources said.
Even after the deadline expired, lakhs of devotees from across the country continued to offer the junked currency in the hundi along with valid notes in the past three months, they said.
Last month itself, Rs eight crore worth demonetised currency was received at the temple, they said.
