Tuki surveys flood-affected areas of Arunachal

While road communication has been totally disrupted in districts like Dibang Valley and Anjaw, the flood-affected low land areas are yet to be brought to normalcy, official sources informed.

The team surveyed the flood affected areas of Dollungmukh, Likabali and Nari-Koyu.

East Siang deputy commissioner told them about road snapping which has been partially restored, electricity and drinking water supply problems in the district headquarter and the adjoining areas.

After taking off from Pasighat, where they had a brief halt, the team surveyed Mebo, Dambuk, Manabhum and Roing where the nature's fury could be visible. The river had changed its course in several areas engulfing whatever came in its way.

There have been reports pouring in about huge loss of agricultural and horticultural fields besides losses of livestock and properties worth crores.

Ongoing projects like hydro-power and the Trans Arunachal Highway, have also been adversely affected by the abrupt monsoon rains and cloud bursts.
