Two arrested, 24 cartons smuggled liquor seized in UP

Two persons were arrested and 24 cartons of liquor were seized from a car while it was allegedly smuggled from Haryana, an excise official said here today.
Around 24 cartons of Haryana-made smuggled liquor were seized when Excise inspector V P Singh intercepted accent car last night around Mahamaya flyover, Ram Ujagir Maurya District Excise Officer of Gautam Buddha Nagar said.
Two persons arrested were identified as Laxmi Narain and ravinder. Both are residents of Haryana, he said.
FIR under excise act has been lodged at sector 39 police station, he added.
