During a routine check, police noticed the two accused at State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur ATM trying to break open the machine as no security guard was present there.
The two accused--Rohtash Chauhan and Gulshan Tiwari, worked as class IV cleaners at a private university in Noida and were staying in a rented room in Chhalera, police said.
"They were planning ATM theft since last one week and selected the one without a guard. Four days ago they had gone to sector 44 Axis bank ATM of but were unsuccessful. Yesterday they attempted theft at DSC road and were caught," Deputy Superintendent of Police(DSP) Raj Kumar Mishra said.
SSP Preetinder Singh has announced a reward of Rs 5000 for the policemen who foiled the ATM break attempt.
