The incident took place in village Panjreh when the kids entered the water while playing and ventured deep into the pond where they drowned, Morwa police station in-charge Rajendra Mishra said.
The deceased were identified as Dhiraj Goud (07) and Rajesh Goud (10), he said.
Their bodies were later fished out and sent for autopsy, the official said.
