Two-day international meet on trade and commerce tomorrow

A two-day international conference, commencing here tomorrow, will examine changing trade and commerce patterns in Asia and the United States and India's roles in increasing trade and investment opportunities.
The conference is being organised by the US Consulate General in Chennai in association with the Centre for Public Policy Research.
US Consul General Phillip Min will give remarks at the inaugural of the conference. US experts Murray Hiebert, Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and Ingrid Henick, Cohen Group will participate in the conference.
According to a release issued by US Consulate General office, Chennai, India's 'Act East Policy' and the United States' rebalance to Asia provide opportunities for India, the United States, and other Asia-Pacific countries to work closely to strengthen regional ties.

"President Obama and Prime Minister Modi looked to our shared interests in the region in the US-India Joint Strategic Vision for the Asia-Pacific and Indian Ocean Region and committed to encouraging free trade and greater people-to-people linkages to support regional economic integration," it said.
