Two elderly women murdered in Thane

Two elderly women were allegedly murdered by unidentified miscreants in Kalyan city of the district, police said today.
The duo, identified as Kamlabai Dudhkar (56) and her sister-in-law Leelabai Dudhkar (65), were found dead in their house at Khadegolavali locality last night, police PRO Sukhada Narkar said.
The incident came to light when the victims' relative reached their residence. The main door of the house was ajar, and the visitor found them lying in a pool of blood, she said.
The house was found in a disorderly state, and things were lying strewn, raising suspicion of robbery, she said.
The duo owned many properties, the PRO said, adding, the murder might be a result of a possible property dispute.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of IPC by Kolsewadi police station and the bodies have been sent for postmortem, Narkar said.
Police is investigating all possible angles, she said.
