The deceased were identified as Krishna Prasad and Madira Mahesh, both 22. The incident took place in Suryalanka, a coastal town under Bapatla mandal of Guntur district, said Cheenakesavulu, a local Police Sub-Inspector.
A group of 13 students from Vignan Engineering College at Vadlamudi went to Suryalanka for a picnic as today was a holiday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
All of them entered the sea and were having fun when four of them were pulled inside by waves. The other students reported the matter to the nearest Marine Police Station. A search was launched and the bodies of two students were found, the police officer said.
