Two insurgents arrested along with Rs. 7.50 lakhs in Manipur
They said commandos, attached to Imphal east district police, launched raids at different places following infiltration of insurgents in Imphal area yesterday.
During the operation, two insurgents--one identified as N Hemen of banned People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) and another as Th Debendro of banned People's Liberation Army (PLA)--were arreted from Thangal Bazar and Thongju area respectively, police said.
An amount of Rs. 7.50 lakhs (Rs. 5 lakhs from Hemen and Rs. 2.50 lakhs from Debendro) were recovered from their possession, sources said adding that two have been handed over to Imphal west district police station for further interrogation.
