Two anti-talk NDFB-Sonbijit militants were killed in an encounter with a joint team of police and army personnel on the Indo-Bhutan border in Assam's Chirang district today.
The two ultras were killed during a shotout after the security force team launched a combing operation at Phulbari village under Runikhata police station on a tip off, police sources said.
A nine-mm pistol, a 7.65-mm pistol, a grenade, two magazines, assorted ammunition and extortion demand notes were recovered from the slain insurgents.
The identity of the slain militants was yet to be ascertained.
