Two jawans of the District Force (DF) were today injured in Naxal fire in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh.
Officials said the incident occurred at about 5:30 PM in the Usoor-Pamed area of the said district when the men were returning after sanitising a helipad in the area along with a police party.
"Two personnel of the DF have been injured after they sustained gun shots. They are stable now," they said.
Security forces retaliated but the Naxals retreated soon after the firing, they said. DF assists the state police in undertaking operations.
