Suggi (40) and her daughter Sonam (7) were killed yesterday when a fire broke out in Parsohna village in the district, reducing ten houses to ashes.
The mother-daughter duo was trying to save their belongings when they got trapped in the inferno, police said.
In another incident, in Bitanya village, about 125 houses were gutted and two persons, a father and his son, received serious burn injuries after a fire broke out in their area.
The injured have been admitted to a community health centre, officials said.
About two dozen other houses were damaged in a similar incident in Pure Mahendrusingh village in the district, they added.
