Sitamarhi District Magistrate D Pratima said the storm came suddenly around 10.40 last night and continued for some time.
"The deceased have been identified as Radhika Devi (45) of Pipra village and Arti Kumari (13) of Belhaiya village. They died after being hit by objects falling due to high speed winds," he said.
Radhika Devi's son was also seriously injured in the incident and has been admitted to hospital.
The district administration is trying to assess the damage to houses and crops due to the storm.
