Liberation Tigers (KPLT) militants have been arrested along with arms and ammunition in central Assam's Morigaon district, said a police officer today.
The two were nabbed during a routine checking by the police at Jaluguti village last night, district Additional Superintendent of Police R K Handique told PTI.
An AK-56 and an AK-47 rifle with 36 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the two ultras identified as Haren Das, 23 and Amal Das, 27, Handique said.
The two had come from their base in neighbouring Karbi Anglong district to extort money in the twin Morigaion and Nagaon districts, the SP added.
