Two labourers die of asphyxiation in Odisha

Two labourers died and two others fell seriously ill due to asphyxiation while they were cleaning a well of a residential house here today, police said.
The deceased were identified as B Chandra Patra, 56, and Somya Patra, 45, of Jagadalapur, police officials said.
The incident occurred when of the four labourers went inside the well but did not respond or come out for long time. Another of his colleague entered the well and did not respond. Likewise the other two went inside the well and failed to respond, they said.
Fire tenders rushed to the spot when the house owner informed the fire station.

While they rescued two labourers alive, bodies of two other labourers were found, they said.
The other two labourers have been admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital here in critical condition.
