Acting on a tip off, the police searched a bus at the bus stand in Khagaria town and seized four pistols kept in a bag under a seat, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Mithu Prasad said.
An arms smuggler, the owner of these pistols, has been identified and he will be arrested soon, Prasad said, adding that the weapons were meant for supply to a customer for use in the urban bodies polls next week, the SP said.
In a related development, the police arrested two miscreants and seized a loaded pistol from their possession from a hide out under Pasraha police station area, he said.
The miscreants identified as Pappu Yadav and Bhagwan Sah were wanted in three cases of loot and attempt to murder in a court premise, Prasad said.
