Acting on a specific information, police laid down a check post at Korepunnu in Kathua district and intercepted one scooter today, police said.
During search of the scooter, 30 bottles of liquor were recovered and one Sukhdev Kumar alias Sukha of Gurdaspur in Punjab was arrested, they said, adding, a case under Excise Act was registered at Kathua police station.
In another incident, police conducted a raid at Prithi Chak Khad in the same district and apprehended one person Balbir Chand, they said, adding eight liters of illicit liquor was also recovered from his possession.
