Two students of polytechnic beaten up during ragging

Two students of a polytechnic here were allegedly beaten up by senior students during ragging.
The college is affiliated to Maharaja Sayajirao University here.
Priyans Shah, one of the two students, told reporters here today that some students from the senior classes asked him to drink water mixed with spit.
When he refused, they beat him up. His friend Akash Patel tried to intervene; he was hit with a cricket bat.
Patel had to be admitted to government-run SSG Hospital here.
Fatehganj police have registered a case. The accused students were absconding, the police said.
J N Panchal, principal of the college, admitted that it was a case of ragging and demanded permanent posting of two policemen on night duty at the hostel.
