The victims, identified as Anshul Kaushik (24) and Kaushik Chaudhary (22), students of a government polytechnic were shot dead last night, IG (STF) Sujit Pandey told reporters.
The murder is said to be fallout of a dispute between the two groups allegedly over ragging, he said, adding, five persons including a lecturer of the institute have been booked in this connection.
Recently a second year student of the institute, was ragged by his senior. A disciplinary complaint was lodged by the ragging victim's father with the lecturer but allegedly no action was taken by him, Pandey added.
