While Prema Devendra (21) allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself by ceiling fan at her house at Sion Koliwada in the city yesterday, Venkatesh Perumal (23) killed himself by jumping in front of a running train at Vasai in Palghar district neighbouring Mumbai last evening.
Perumal and Prema were in a relationship but their parent were apparently opposed to their marriage, police said.
Police suspect that Prema killed herself at around 1 PM whereas Perumal's body was recovered on railway tracks in Vasai at around 6 PM.
Further investigation is on, police said.
