The 37-year-old will reprise his role as Richard Epps in the fifth installment of the franchise, reported Aceshowbiz.
Gibson revealed his involvement in the film during the 2016 BET Awards. The actor recently shared an on set picture with Michael Bay.
"Rumor has it. Nah... Robert Epps is back!!!#T5 summer 2017 just got even more interesting...@MichaelBay aka #MrImAlwaysAwesomer," he captioned the photo.
The fifth installment also stars Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Anthony Hopkins and Isabela Moner.
It is scheduled to release on June 23, 2017.
