U'Khand PCC chief ill,unlikely to attend meeting in Delhi:Cong

With PCC chief Kishor Upadhyay running high fever, uncertainty hangs over a meeting convened by Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi in Delhi tomorrow to resolve differences between Chief Minister Harish Rawat and Upadhyay ahead of 2017 assembly polls.
"The PCC chief is running high fever and doctor has advised him complete rest for a week. As such he won't be attending the meeting tomorrow," a party source here said.
However, when asked Harish Rawat said he will attend the meeting convened by the Congress high command to take stock of the functioning of the state government and the party organisation in the state besides preparations for the coming assembly polls.

Resolving differences between the CM and the state party unit was on top of the agenda for tomorrow's meeting in Delhi to be held in the presence of Congress in-charge for Uttarakhand Ambika Soni and her co-incharge Sanjay Kapoor, party sources said requesting anonymity.
Congress leaders are of the view that the party which has already been weakened with as many as 10 MLAs, all popular leaders, having defected to the BJP may suffer further due to the continuing differences between the PCC chief and the CM.
Rawat and Upadhyay have been on loggerheads for the past few months over the Congress' continued alliance with the Progressive Democratic Front which stood like a rock behind the CM during the recent political crisis in Uttarakhand.

While the PCC wants the CM to spell out his stand on the issue clearly, he says only the party high command can take a call on it.
