UAE-based diversified conglomerate Mulk Holdings has said it has bagged a number of contracts in India, with a collective value exceeding USD 8.3 million.
These include the supply of Alubond USA Composite Panels at Bengaluru and Kolkata International Airports, worth USD 3 million and supply and fabrication of Alubond USA Composite Panels at the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) in India worth a further USD 1 million, the company said.
NMIA is one of the world's largest greenfield state-of- the-art international airports, currently under development, offering world-class facilities for passengers, cargo, aircrafts and airlines.
Alubond USA, owned by Mulk Holdings, has supplied around 2,0000 square metres of internal and external applications in the airport, including special fabricated stainless steel panels in the project interiors.
The company has also secured contracts worth USD 2.8 million for a number of projects in several information technology parks, with clients, including Infosys, Tata consultancy Services in Pune, Kochi, Bhuvaneshwar and Chennai.
The company has also been selected to supply Alubond USA Composite Panels to new hospitality projects being developed by Taj Hotels and Oberoi Hotels, worth USD 0.8 million and a further contract worth USD 0.5 million for Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
"These contracts are a strong endorsement of Alubond USA Composite Panels and reflect a growing demand for our products all over the world, including India, where construction activities are picking up.
"We are happy to be able to meet the growing demand for environmentally-friendly Alubond USA Composite Panels in India which is being rolled out of our new manufacturing plant here," Shaji Ul Mulk, Chairman of Mulk Holdings, which owns Alubond USA Composite Panels globally, said.
Mulk Holdings is also a major player in interiors and furnishing businesses. It has a network of operations in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, India, Europe, the United States, India, Sri Lanka and China.
Bengaluru International Airport registers overall passenger traffic of 12.69 million. The contract was awarded by Mero Asia, a Singapore-based contractor. The total quantity supplied to this project was 25,000 square metres. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2013.
Bengaluru International airport is also the fifth busiest airport in terms of international passenger traffic. With these contracts, Alubond has become a preferred choice in the development and renovation of around 200 airports in the coming years.
Consultants and contractors are increasingly relying on the environmentally-friendly and fire-retardant panels for complete protection of the civil structures, comfort and beauty.
