The 22-year-old crook was in such deep sleep that his victim had time to call the police, who caught him while he was still asleep in the house in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
The burglar, named Frankie Flannigan, has been jailed for 18 months at Leeds Crown Court after he admitted burglary, the 'Daily Express' reported.
The court heard that Flannigan had smashed a window of the home next door to his mother's and stolen a TV, a laptop and an Xbox, leaving them by a bin outside.
The woman who owned the house found Flannigan when she came home in the evening and saw broken glass and items missing.
Flannigan was arrested on the spot and admitted burglary.
