Cote D'Ivoire got 189 votes, while Equatorial Guinea got 185 votes and Kuwait 188 votes. Poland garnered 190 and Peru 186.
Netherlands was also elected to serve a one-year term it shares with Italy.
Last year, after five rounds of voting, neither Italy nor the Netherlands met the required two-thirds majority for election. As a result, they announced that they will divide the term, with each serving one year on the Council.
