Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said the bill has not been listed for consideration in the session but the government is committed to expeditiously bringing it once it gets the report from the Select Committee of the Rajya Sabha.
The bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha, debated in the Rajya Sabha and was later referred to the Select Committee.
Bansal said the Select Committee is expected to give its report on the first day of the last week of the monsoon session which is concluding on September seven.
Insisting that the government is keen to pass it as early as possible, he recalled the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley is also a member of the Select Committee going into the bill. (more)
