SP (City) Sarvan Kumar said that a case has been registered against constables Harender, Vinit and the escaped prisoner Nawaz under sections 223 (Escape from custody negligently suffered by public servant) and 224 (Resistance or obstruction by a person to his lawful apprehension) of IPC.
The incident took place yesterday when Nawaz was being brought to the court for hearing when he suddenly broke free from the handcuffs while being escorted by the two cops, the SP said.
