Unimark Group to build 3 affordable housing projects

Unimark Group, a leading city-based developer, is coming up with three affordable housing projects, out of which two would be under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY).
"We will be the first city-based private developer to set up affordable housing projects under the PMAY scheme. One will be located at Barasat near the metropolis and the other at Howrah," Chairman and Managing Director of Unimark Group Harsh Patodia told PTI.
The third one would be located at Rajarhat, close to the airport, he said adding the projects would be launched on April 15 and each unit would cost between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 25 lakh.

Besides these projects, Patodia said the group would also set up two townships for which it would apply to West Bengal government. The locations would be near Joka and eastern side of EM Bypass in the city.
The other affordable housing project set up in the city was by Mumbai-based developer Shapoorji Pallonji.
Showcasing the compact super-luxury residences 'Unimark Solitaire' on EM Bypass between ITC Sonar and upcoming J W Marriott hotels, Patodia said the project was being built at a cost of Rs 320 crore. It would have 38 floors with 135 apartments with sizes between 2200 sq ft and 3400 sq ft.

"These is the first premium residence of smaller size in the city. Each unit will cost between Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 4 crore," he said.

Other similar projects under construction were of much bigger size and the ticket size is also much higher.
"This is a unique space which we have identified so we have ventured into it," he said. The project would be completed by the first quarter of 2019.
Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor had been roped in as the brand ambassador for the project.
