Union minister urges WB government to cooperate with Centre

Refuting the allegations that the Centre is smuggling in foreigners to carry out violence, Union minister Mahesh Sharma today urged the Bengal government to perform its duty properly and cooperate with the Centre.
"The central government is performing its duty properly with an eye to make India a strong nation. I am also a minister for last three years and I know the ground reality. The state should cooperate with the central government," Sharma said.
Sharma's comment comes as a reaction to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's allegation that the Centre was smuggling in foreigners from across the international border to perpetrate violence the state.

Sharma, the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism & Culture said that the Center believes in "an united and strong nation".
"We believe in one and united country and the country is being led by a strong government. We don't differentiate between states. In West Bengal, there is a need to change the system for the sake of development. We would appeal to the chief minister that only simple lifestyle won't help in developing the state. Incidents like Basirhat riots is not accepted from a state like Bengal," Sharma said.
While speaking about the ongoing separate statehood agitation in Darjeeling, Sharma said," Darjeeling was one of the biggest sector of tourism in India and with the ongoing unrest it will impact the tourism sector as a whole."

Darjeeling has been on boil for last 26 days over the demand of separate state of Gorkhaland.
