University Teachers Association seeks review of recruitments

: With controversy raging over appointment of faculty in Bharathiar University, leading to resignation of Registrar (in charge), Bhatathiar University Teachers Association today sought review of the recruitments.
An Extraordinary General Body meeting of BHUTA took cognizance of 'unconfirmed, adverse media reports' in the last three weeks of over around 80 appointments this month in the University and constituent colleges at Modakudchi and resolved to request the Chancellor, Chief Minister, Higher Education Minister, Secretary, Department of Higher Education and Vice-chancellor to review the entire appointment process.
BHUTA secretary Dr A Velayudhan said in a release said that considering the fact that media insertions had caused much pain to the teaching and non-teaching communities of the University, coupled with 'tarnishing' its image BHUTA made a fervent appeal so as to put at rest all speculations.
