UP announces Rs 20 lakh assistance to kin of slain CRPF jawan

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today announced Rs 20 lakh financial assistance to the family of CRPF jawan Awadh Bihari Singh, who was killed in a suicide attack in Srinagar.
While stronly condemning the terror attack and conveyig his sympathy to the kin of bereaved jawans, Akhilesh said that Rs 20 lakh would be given to the family members of Singh, who hailed from Jalaun district in UP, an official spokesman said here.
Singh was among the five jawans of 73 battalion CRPF killed in the suicide attack by two militants on their camp in Bemina area of in Srinagar yesterday.
The two assailants were shot dead in retaliatory action by the security forces.
