The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of the Uttar Pradesh police Tuesday took a couple, allegedly having links with the naxals, in its custody here.
Manish and his wife Amita alias Varsha, who hail from Jaunpur district of UP, were produced before a local court.
Judicial Magistrate Bharat Kumar Vyas granted the ATS the couple's transit remand till July 12 so that they could be taken to UP and produced before a court there.
The couple shouted "Inqilab Zindabad" (long live the revolution) outside the court.
The couple, hailing from Jaunpur in UP, were picked by the ATS from a house in Shahpura locality here, a local police official said.
Sources said the ATS also seized some material including naxal literature from the house.
