"Principal Secretary Sanjay Agarwal has issued a notification in which compulsion of submitting borrow and lease form at the time of new connection has been abolished," an official spokesman said here.
He said that after this the new consumer would not be required to obtain the licence from licenced contrator.
The spokesman said that in place of licence the applicants would be required to submit a self declaration form.
He said that Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had received iformation from the MLAs and public representatives that problems were being faced by the people in getting new connection.
He said that following notification UP Power Corporation Limited A P Mishra has directed all the distribution companies to implement the new system with immediate effect.
