"The state government is preparing a scheme for de-silting of rivers and has also sought support of the Centre in this regard", Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav said in the Vidhan Sabha in reply to a question.
He said that the state government is considering use of funds under the MNREGS head in the de-silting work.
Yadav was replying to a question raised by BJP member Suresh Kumar Khanna
The government was also considering construction of pucca (permanent) embankments to save villages from onslaught of floods, he added.
